Nonhuman Intelligences

Nonhuman intelligences include anything, physical or not, which is intelligent enough to communicate with human beings and is not itself human- dogs, dolphins, apes and other mundane creatures and the more exotic entities such as Mothman, space aliens, Demons, VALIS and so on.
A central idea of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos is the constant intrusion and invasion of our reality by nonhuman intelligences from outside time and space. This highly exotic idea captured the imagination of many a Satanist and Lovecraft himself has been shown in recent years to be not quite as original as once thought- apart from any literary debts he owed he also borrowed heavily from "real" books of magic and historical accounts of evil cults, the entities they grovelled to and the myths and stories, especially folk tales, of traffic between humans and creaturs from beyond.
